(Nightmare)
1) A boy who is introverted, lonely, who is obsessed with criminology.
2) Goes to school, year 13, (small montage of his school life and lessons)
3) He walks home after school, (Jump cut) to bedroom, covered in murder articles, and posters.
4) He stays up at night and plays games until early dawn ( playing games like LA Noire , Batman etc) Footage of him playing.
5) Cuts to watching true detective
6) A dream sequence first occurs (it's rapid, unclear,short, faced paced)( Calendar shows that the date is the 10th)
7)Protagonist wakes up also sweaty to signify that the audience know he had a bad dream as those are the common symptoms of a nightmare.
(Inter titles)
8) The protagonist is at school dwelling on the obscure dream he had and his friends all ask if he's okay and as he tells his friends they all question his sanity.
9) The same dream occurs but the dream includes the protagonist dressed as the detective, this signifies it's a completely different universe, he starts to investigate the murder that it's due to occur so he finds clues to help him stop the murder and to save the victims and finally fulfil his ambition to be a well remembered detective. Clues in which the detective could find can consist of pin pointing the location, finding the murder weapon, identifying the murderer and the victim etc.
10) A calendar shows it's exactly 7 days after the first encounter, this shows the audeince that the narrative has progressed.
11) A news report identifies the body and the murder with the same analytics as his dream as the news report run through the details.(Voiceover)
12) His friends discuss how he's become isolated and his 'virgin' crush mentions how he has become cut off from the real world. The protagonist discourages their views as he views the dream world as reality.
13) As the murder has occurred in real life , his dream changes and shows him the events of the next murder which is set to take place in exactly 7 days.
14) The effects of the paranoia and constant split personality starts to become evident as he becomes stressed and overwhelmed at the time restraint, this is shown through his constant attention to the ticking clock, and always trying to sleep.
15)The protagonist enters the dream world and starts to do detective work and he see's his friends as characters in the split universe
16)He questions witnesses who consist of his crush(in real life) a prostitute who witnessed a murder.
17) He wakes, interrupted by his teacher in a lesson, an argument arises
18) A calendar is shown which is followed by a news article which will show the time restraint the protagonist has as he fears the time as he fails to save the victims.
19) The last shot is a slow pace panning shot which zooms out and shows the protagonist standing behind the antagonist silhouette. .
