The Dark Knight Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXeTwQWrcwY
Camera-
Establishing shot of a high rise in China at night.
The camera shots are short clips which are to create suspense to the target audience.
A panning and tilting shots are seen giving an insight into the location which is used to set the scene and give the audience some information about the story.
Shot reverse shots are evident during short conversations between two main characters, the characters just got introduced so the camera shot changes when their characters names were said.
The scenes with the Joker and Batman feature fade ins and fade outs which build suspense to give the cinematic vibe to the target audience.
Camera work is IMAX as it features more frames per second which gives the viewing experience a more cinematic flow for the consumer.
The length of the clips vary as the characters within the scene change, the clips with the protagonist and antagonist get more screen time, in comparison to scenes with just supporting characters.
A lot of medium close ups and close ups are evident when the camera is aimed at the joker as the audience get to see his attire and makeup which is done in a way it makes the audience want to know his backstory and his story in the actual narrative. This is because the media institutions didn't give too much away so they made the antagonist as mysterious as possible which makes the audience needing to see the movie.
Whereas the consumers have seen batman in the previous film in the franchise, so most of his shots are long/meduim shots so the scenery is visible which foreshadows the narrative.
Sound-
Throughout the whole trailer a composition of the soundtrack composed by the famous Hans Zimmer, is heard, this is done because Hans Zimmer is well educated in composing pieces of music which create tension and suspense, he has worked closely with main projects like Modern Warfare 2, Inception etc. This allows the audience to gain interest as the music tempo is fitting to what is seen in the trailer.
As well as the non diegetic sound of the soundtrack, diegetic is also featured in the trailer due to characters having dialogue and things in the scene which make sounds in the trailer, eg an explosion of a building.
Mise en scene-
The overall theme of the movie trailer is portrayed as a dark superhero movie as the lighting used is darker than other typical superhero movies. The protagonist and antagonist get the most screen time so it shows their importance and relevance to the story. The locations during the trailer keep changing which is done to appeal to the target audience because it keeps the viewing experience fresh and allows the audience to watch the trailer over and over again as there is enough information in the trailer to keep the audience interested and allows them to learn something new every time they watch the trailer, without the trailer feeling packed with information which makes the experience unpleasant. As the action scenes get more recurring the tempo of the music becomes faster, the use of explosions and loud noise increase, and the length of the scenes vary to not give too much away but still inform the audience about what narrative is going to be in the product.
Due to being an action movie/ superhero movie, the movie features alot of fighting an action scenes, however, the trailer doesn't show them, it more or less suggests it through the tempo of the music and the start of the fight so the antagonist gate crashing a party and both the hero and villain in a showdown staring each other down.

Camera-
At the start of the trailer it has a close up of the main actor in the movie, Michael Caine, this is camera then cuts to a long shot of a white vehicle. The camera then zooms in towards the car and then shows a short clip of three mini's , then hard cuts back to the previous van and the fast pace zoom continues to get closer to the van which suggests something is going to happen due to the tension in the target audience building up. Then the camera changes to a long shot over looking the van.
The camera then does a tracking shot of the wheels of the well recognised bus. Then tracks the bus from a aerial view , long distance.
A medium shot of the character is then shown to appeal to the target audience as he is seen as a heart throb.
A new scene is of a POV overlooking a traffic jam which jump cuts to show other POV and angles of the traffic jam.
Another tracking shot is evident when the Aston Martin is rolling down the hill to show to the target audience that it's significant.
Towards the end of the trailer, the action scenes start appearing so the pace of the cuts and scene changes are sped up which creates a certain mood which intrigues the target audience.
Then at the end of the trailer, a establishing shot is shown overlooking Italy.
Sound- Through out the trailer, the soundtrack of the movie is played constantly to get the audience into the right patriotic mood due to being a great British movie. While the music is playing diegetic sounds are also evident. For example, a narrative is being told by the main actor about the general gist of the movie and the plot, and explosions to captivate the target audience followed by one of the most iconic catchphrases of the whole movie. Even though the soundtrack is placed constantly, the volume levels change when the action scenes start happening so it adds to the atmosphere by increasing the volume.
Mise en scene-
Throughout alot of this trailer, the union jack flag is evident so it's trying to set up a patriotic vibe for the target audience. The main actor Michael Caine steals the spotlight as he is the highest paid actor of the movie followed by Noel Coward.
A car chase scene is evident towards the end of the trailer which features three iconic brands of car, with iconic colours as they are the colours of the union jack. Overall the light used is natural light as this movie is a captivating feel good movie as it's all about patriotism. Due to the era when the movie was released, the institution are trying to get the theme of patriotism by making most of the main characters on the protagonist's side White English males. Furtermore, no female characters are seen as strong and independent, they are seen more as pretty objects which are to look attractive and be protected by the male. This is seen through the seen with Michael Caine in a room full of half naked women, this portrays him as a ladies man.
