Action Plan

Action Plan
Plot revolves around young student who suffers from nightmares/dreams in which he is a detective trying to solve a continuous multiple homicide case. concurrently, there are very similar murders taking place in the real world which bear an uncanny resemblance to said dreams. The protagonist begins to think that by solving these murders in his dreams that he will be a step closer to solving the actual murders. Over a period of weeks this desire to solve them develops into an obsession, he cuts off ties with friends, avoids the outside world in order to progress his own investigation (could also include a parallel of media covering the investigation using fake newspaper articles) there will be constant parallels drawn between dream and reality.

08/03/17- Address point 1 &2& 3 Delete irrelevant footage and make the intertitles less confusing (completed) (will recreate the intertitles within final cut pro)
09/03/17- Create fake newspapers to show time has past

13/03/17- Film the scenes that can be filmed in school
Aerial view shot of suspect board with connections
Cuts to over shoulder shot of the suspect board (which will be created in my free made out of paper and pictures placed in a hierarchy structure leading to the murderer at the top of the food chain, we will film this seen in W9A as the lighting is perfect for a clear image to the audience) from the side of the character
BBC news article (Made on a new blogger account with fake stories) of murder close up pans across the headline
Slides missing posts and newspaper clippings on the floor
Crossing off the victims/ suspects Low angle shot
Circles the face of the ‘murder’

Dark room Guy in all black murdering/ beating up Sam in W9A classroom (The tables and computers are ideal for this scene because the character has basically set up his own detective room in school so he can research the murders, plus the lighting when the lights are off ae dark enough to create a dark, suspenseful atmosphere whilst still be able to see the characters)   LS, CU, Low angle shot
Camera shaking of Alex Jones looking distressed in a class room tilting from side to side to show distortion to get the character’s distress due to his disorder across to the audience.


14/03/17- Film the scenes that can be filmed in the park
Multiple shots of these scenes to get a wide variety of perspectives to create parallel edit frequency
ECU on the chests of the two detectives panning up
Long shot of three friends in the park
Close up on the hand of Adam on Alex’s back
Gabe’s character chasing the murderer (Max in all blacks)
Zoom out of Alex Jones looking at the murderer (in all black clothing, can’t see his face)
Murderer dragging Sam in the woods (still alive)
High angle shot of POV of Sam as the murderer hits him with a bat

15/03/17/ / 16/03/17 In school, edit the footage we already have to block the footage into order
Therapist scene – The therapist at a CU/MS/LOW ANGLE asks Alex what’s wrong and Alex Responds with I have nightmares, CU on Alex’s Facial expressions high angle shot, over should shot, shot reverse shot

19/03/17- Film the last couple of scenes
Girl in a chair in the background with a lighter being lit in front of the camera (after title scene)

20/03/17- Write and script of the new audio we need to record on the mic
22/03/17- Record all the new audio we need to do
which includes Voice over (Alex talking to the audience (A therapist) ‘it’s been 48 days since my dreams started)
            (Person in need on phone and the murder laughing)

From then on we will continue to work on the editing of the trailer within frees and after school.
23/03/17- Stay after school to edit

30/03/17- Stay after school to edit

I have already chosen the soundtrack I will use in my trailer to build the tension.
Furthermore, I’ve already completed a poster print product draft as we have already spent some time on them, and we have already taken images of the characters but I think we will be able to schedule another photoshoot within school hours if another one is necessary.
